We are looking for a dedicated and patient-focused general ophthalmologist to provide comprehensive ophthalmic consultations, diagnosis, medical management, and surgical treatment for a wide range of eye disorders. 

  • The candidate will be responsible for conducting detailed eye examinations, diagnosing and managing common ophthalmic conditions, performing cataract and other ophthalmic surgeries, and delivering evidence-based treatment plans to patients across all age groups. 
  • The role involves evaluating patients using advanced ophthalmic diagnostic equipment, interpreting imaging and investigation reports, performing outpatient and emergency procedures, and ensuring high standards of patient care throughout the treatment journey. 
  • The general ophthalmologist will work closely with optometrists, retina specialists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and efficient clinical care while maintaining accurate electronic medical records and complying with hospital protocols, NABH standards, and infection control guidelines. 
  • The position also requires active participation in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, departmental meetings, and continuous medical education programs. 
  • The ideal candidate should possess excellent clinical decision-making abilities, strong surgical skills, outstanding patient counseling capabilities, and a commitment to delivering ethical, compassionate, and high-quality ophthalmic care.
Roles & Responsibilites
  • Conduct comprehensive ophthalmic examinations and diagnose eye diseases.
    Manage cataracts, refractive errors, glaucoma screening, dry eye disease,
  • diabetic retinopathy screening, and other common eye conditions.
  • Perform cataract surgeries, including phacoemulsification and small incision cataract surgery (SICS).
  • Perform minor ophthalmic procedures including pterygium excision, chalazion surgery, and eyelid procedures.
  • Perform YAG laser capsulotomy and peripheral iridotomy where credentialed.
  • Interpret OCT, fundus photography, visual fields, corneal topography, pachymetry, and biometry.
  • Manage ophthalmic emergencies, including ocular trauma, corneal foreign
  • bodies, chemical injuries, and sudden vision loss.
  • Counsel patients regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, surgery, and postoperative care.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure compliance with NABH standards.
  • Participate in clinical audits, departmental meetings, and continuous medical education programs.
